Experience has taught us that every client has a different set of care needs. We also know that care requirements can change over time. We aim to approach every situation on an individual basis because we are aware that what works for one person will not be appropriate for another.
Above all we aim to to treat all clients with the dignity and respect which everyone deserves. We believe that you know your care needs or the needs of a loved one better than anyone and this is always our guide.

Our approach is based around the idea of working with our clients. We provide the level of care which you think you need rather than according to some pre-set plan. Often the care needs are first identified by relatives, particularly in the case of older clients, and we always consult everybody concerned when putting together a care plan for your loved one. We also report back regularly on problems and successes to ensure that everyone who needs to know, including social services and medical professionals, is kept in the loop regarding a client’s welfare.

Scope of our service
Our service exists to enable people over 18 with physical disabilities or health problems to live independently in their own homes and within the community, by offering them an alternative choice from residential or hospital care when they need help and support.

Assisting by bringing container with medication to the service user Prompting or reminding to take medication Checking or observing medication has been taken Applying topical creams and locations that are available over the counter Dispensing medication from a dosing pack prepared by the pharmacists Removing single medication from a blister pack or container Recording medication as taken Other medication tasks only in agreement with shared care protocols after training and supervision by the district nurse, this will include use of inhalers or eye drops and applying prescription cream

HOUSEHOLD TASKES

Dealing with spillage of general household substances Mopping floors Dusting and polishing area within reach Vacuuming General tidying of kitchen and bathroom areas where work may be carried out Washing up after use of crockery etc Making or changing beds Laundry Intensive cleaning only if assessed and agreed before hand

MISCELLANEOUS TASKS

Bible study, prayer, Shopping and pension collection when agreed by the company and the correct arrangements have been made Preparing of meals to a basic culinary standard or heating prepared frozen meals Helping complete food or shopping orders for delivery Sitting service, including over night in an emergency, if staff available to do so Promoting independence by assisting with day to day activities, making appointments etc and recording on calendar Other tasks may be agreed under the shared care protocols with the required training & documentation in place.

How we manage your care planning

We create a care plan for all of our clients. This is the document which sets out the services we will provide and we take a great deal of care to ensure that we put the right plan in place for each of our clients. The plan is drawn up in consultation with the client, their relatives and health care and social services professionals. It is based on an assessment of risk and of the needs and preferences of the client.

How we use the care plan

The care plan will give the support workers the information needed to carry out the agreed tasks. We make every effort to accommodate all of your needs and our staff are always willing to go the extra mile for their clients. There may be occasions, however, where a support worker can not carry out a task which is not in the care plan. If there are issues which need to be resolved these can be addressed during our regular care plan reviews.

We make a point of reviewing every care plan on a regular basis to ensure that our clients continue to receive the service which best fits their needs. We will also carry out a review whenever the client’s circumstances change as a result of illness, or changes to living arrangements.

Walker - Registered Manager
Walker has over thirty years experience in domiciliary care and has achieved two NVQ level 4 in both Care and registered Managers award.
- Manager
has over twenty years experience in care and has achieved NVQs 2,3, 4 and 5 she also has leadership management level 4 award achieved with a City and Guilds Medal of Excellence. Marie is a qualified risk assessor and a moving and handling of people trainer.

Staff employed and will receive training according to the duties they may be required to undertake.
